To the rear of the properties lies the 2nd green of the famous Dunskey Golf Course and to the front are wonderful views over the North Channel to Ireland. This area has a temperate climate and there are many other golf courses locally. Portpatrick has a good selection of hotels, pubs and craft shops. Enjoy one of the fun weekends, the Boat Festival in June or the Folk Festival in September. For the energetic, the Southern Upland Way starts here with great cliff-top and beach walks. The Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh has a specialist garden at Port Logan and the gardens at Glenwhan are exotic, with sea views over Luce Bay and the Mull of Galloway. Stranraer is 8 miles away and gives you the opportunity for a day trip to Ireland. The nearest shops and pubs are only 500 yards away.
